Our team at CREPE strongly values commission culture that is built on mutual respect, and the community that is helping to build this culture.
As a platform providing a space for clients and artists to communicate, we hope to guide users using our shared commitment to creating a safe place where everyone shows respect and is respected.
This applies not only to the commission process but to all communication within CREPE.
Let's work together to ensure a safe and enjoyable commission experience for everyone.
Trust
Since commissions involve custom-made work, ‘trust’ plays a crucial role in the creation process.
A great experience cannot be achieved through the effort of just one party, whether it be the client or the artist.
Clients must complete and submit their application forms to the best of their ability and engage in communication needed to carry out the commission process.
Artists must provide clear guidance based on the client's submission and deliver the agreed-upon work accurately within the timeframe they promised.
This process as a whole is tied directly to the level of trust when it comes to commissions.
Below are the guidelines all users must follow in order to uphold trust within the CREPE community.
Meet the agreed-upon deadlines.
Delivering commission work by the deadline is the artist’s obligation. Setting and adhering to appropriate deadlines builds trust between the artist and the client. A commission grounded in trust leads to a positive experience for both parties. If unforeseen circumstances prevent an artist from completing the commission on schedule, they must notify the client as soon as possible to discuss extending the deadline or canceling the commission. Failing to fulfill the commission without notice deprives the client of an opportunity to request a different commission, as they are unaware of the situation.
Communicate genuinely throughout the commission process.
All users must respond sincerely to inquiries from clients or artists. Active communication ensures not only a final product both parties are satisfied with, but also an easier commission experience. If responses to inquiries are significantly delayed or communication is not maintained, it may be difficult to complete the commission smoothly.
Additional requests should be based on agreed terms.
All commission work must proceed based on pre-agreed terms. Therefore, please ensure you partake in a thorough discussion before starting the commission. Prior consultation prevents delays caused by additional requests during the process and leads to a more positive commission experience. When making additional requests, avoid repeatedly asking for difficult-to-negotiate changes or demanding additional fees that were not previously discussed.
Communicate and transact respectfully.
Clients and artists must always respect each other and maintain courtesy. Actions that offend the other party could disrupt the commission process.
- Artist's Obligations (Article 20 (Artist's Obligations))
- Client's Obligations (Article 21 (Client's Obligations))
- Transaction System Safety (Article 26 (Transaction System Safety))
- Dispute Resolution Procedure (Article 33 (Dispute Resolution Procedure for Commission Contracts))
- Personal Information Protection (Article 14 (Collection and Protection of Personal Information))
- Direct External Transactions (Article 16 (Suspension or Restriction of Use))
Safety
CREPE users must be able to use the platform safely in all situations.
‘Safety’ includes preventing conflict between users, not just external threats.
Creating a safe community and space relies on the efforts of both the CREPE team and all users.
Safety on CREPE can be ensured when all users show consideration for one another, understand what actions may be violent to others, and act with caution.
With this in mind, the following actions are strictly prohibited.
Self-Harm
CREPE prioritizes the physical and mental health of all users. Sharing detailed information about self-harm or suicide is dangerous not only to the individual but also to other users. To protect the community's safety, glorifying or encouraging self-harm is strictly prohibited.
- Glorifying or encouraging self-harm
- Sharing explicit details about suicide notes or suicide attempts
- Persistently expressing one's own depression despite the other person clearly expressing discomfort
- Any self-harming behavior equivalent to the examples above
[If You Need Help]
If you are struggling with depression, suicidal or self-harm urges, eating disorders, or similar issues, please don't suffer alone—reach out for help. CREPE hopes users facing such situations do not feel isolated. If you are experiencing difficulties, are at risk of self-harm or harming others, or are in a suicidal situation, contact a trusted person, medical professional, national mental health hotline, or local counseling center to receive appropriate support.
Sexual Harassment
Even for artists providing adult content or clients requesting adult commissions, being exposed to sexual conversations or media without consent constitutes an act of violence. This also applies to materials provided during the commission process.
- Sending sexual materials without prior notice
- Attempting sexual conversations unrelated to the commission or demanding personal relationships
- Any behavior deemed sexually inappropriate by social norms
Threats Against Others
All CREPE users must not endanger each other's safety or that of CREPE team members. The following actions that threaten others' safety are strictly prohibited:
- Using profanity, threats, insults, slander, or cyberstalking CREPE users or employees
- Making demands not previously agreed upon under the pretense of writing reviews
- Misusing personal information provided in applications
- Using vulgar language in accounts or nicknames, or posting content that specifically targets and slanders individuals
Discrimination
CREPE is a community where diverse members gather to create and receive commission work. In order to create an environment where everyone can “keep doing what they love,” we require effort from all community members to create positive experiences and ensure everyone feels safe. In order to respect the diversity of all users, we prohibit discrimination based on the following :
- Race and ethnicity
- Country or region of origin
- Gender, sexual orientation, and gender identity
- Religion
- Age
- Social class
- Educational background
- Disability or illness
- Pregnancy and related medical conditions
- Family situation (e.g., presence of children)
- Marital status
Order
CREPE is a platform that mediates commissions, so we have established rules regarding the exchange of money and creative works. All users must interact according to these rules, and order within the CREPE platform can only be maintained when these rules are followed. If a situation arises that violates these rules, please report it to CREPE. We will listen to your situation and work to resolve the issue.
Below are the rules all users must follow to maintain order within the CREPE community.
Operate under your own name.
On CREPE, you can create one account per name. You must not use another person's name or impersonate someone else when using CREPE. Impersonation and identity theft undermine trust between users and disrupt the commission process.
Comply with age restrictions.
CREPE uses an age verification system to prevent minors from being exposed to violent or sexually explicit content. This prevents minors from viewing explicit material and also stops minors from commissioning adult content. For the safety and compliance of all users, please strictly adhere to the age restriction rules.
Provide only original creations.
CREPE respects the talents of all users and aims to facilitate commission works create by individual talent. If you encounter products that are not the artist's output, please report it following the proper procedures. CREPE can also impose sanctions based on the judgment of relevant authorities.
Furthermore, CREPE does not recognize copyright for work created using generative AI, in accordance with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism's policy. Therefore, commissions involving such outputs are also not permitted. If a legitimate report regarding generative AI is filed, we may request supporting documentation to verify whether AI was used in creating the work.
Act with Good Intentions.
CREPE strictly prohibits malicious acts that disrupt the commission process. This includes all intentional system abuses such as spam, fraud, and violations of fair trade practices. If malicious activity occurs, CREPE can impose appropriate sanctions. Sanctioned users may submit an appeal within a specified period. However, if additional malicious activity is discovered during this period, sanctions will be enforced when the appeal period ends.
